La Cevicheria
3809 W Pico Blvd

“To begin with, this hidden gem serves classic Peruvian and Guatemalan fare, including a ceviche de pescado y camaron made of the freshest fish and shrimp you’ll find on the West Coast.
And since it’s BYOB, I usually show up with a Cos d’Estournel Blanc 2018. The tartness of the sauce paired with the freshness of the Sauvignon Blanc is absolutely magical!”

“The next stop is Leo’s Taco Truck. It’s more than a food truck; it’s a Los Angeles institution. It’s open very late. I love coming here with my wife for a late-night feast after exploring the town.
In fact, I remember enjoying one of the best pairings ever with a Cos d’Estournel 2014 at Leo’s at 2 A.M. Those juicy, rich tacos served with a wine that had been decanted four hours earlier remain unforgettable!”

Sarita's Pupuseria

“Being a native of El Salvador and a Bordeaux wine lover, I was looking to bring the two cultures together.
It was at Sarita’s Pupuseria at Grand Central Market that I finally found the perfect match: pupusas de chicharron (small tortillas stuffed with pork) with a Cos d’Estournel 2005 or 2016. The vintage matters because it is what determines that perfect balance!”

Pink’s Hot Dogs
709 N La Brea Ave

We can’t end our street food journey without the inevitable hot dog! My favorite hot dogs come from Pink’s Hot Dog, which has been attracting lovers of chili hot dogs and other fun creations since 1939.
With a bottle of Cos d’Estournel 2010 or Pagodes de Cos 2009, I would definitely go with the Brando Dog, named after movie legend Marlon Brando; these warmer climate vintages would be ideal with the generous flavors of their pastrami hot dog!
